Well, this is again a week late, and we only have a bunch of random iPhone pics but I figure we'll more than make up for it during his BIRTHDAY in a few weeks!! Ahh!!
Without further adieu, at 11 months, my precious baby Carter...
Still seems to be amazed by like everything in his life. He will say "whats that" and points at things all day long
Officially has 5 teeth with more on the way! To top front left tooth came in first, followed by the tooth to the left of that one (so not the other front tooth). Does that make sense? So he initially looked a little lopsided until his other front tooth came in as well.
He took his first steps when he first turned 10 months and has taken about 6-7 consecutive steps on his own. He will walk between furniture but will still crawl long distances.
Has been much better about taking decent naps. I'm talking about at least an hour in the morning and an hour or 1.5 hours in the afternoon. Can I get a hallelujah?? I've heard that once you finally get in a groove, things change though..soo.....
Is also sleeping better at night. He will still wake up anytime between 4-6am to nurse but will fall right back asleep.
Looooves to roughhouse with Dad. They tackle and chase each other every chance they get. Carter will also attempt to hide from Richard and I by ducking under his walker or going behind curtains. He loves getting snuck up on and startled with peek a boo :) Also, Richard has taught him how to "attack mom" while I'm laying down on the floor. This consists of Carter crawling on me and attempting to kiss (bite) my face. Not my favorite trick....they both think it's hysterical.
Still will eat anything that's put in front of him. We are very fortunate.
Has a small birthmark by his bellybutton. I'm not sure why I didn't notice it before, but it's a very light brown mark about the size of a dime. Richard and I have birthmarks also.
Always pulls off his left sock while we are driving. It's never the right sock, always the left sock...without fail.
Really likes toys and books. Especially cars now. Anything with wheels he loves. He will scoot them along the floor and make "vroom" sounds. Such a boy.
He also loves other kids. This kid goes out of his way to find other kids to play with. Sometimes I will catch him talking to the baby's picture on the diaper box haha. He's a social one, that's for sure.
Even though he's social, he's still very good about playing by himself and keeping himself entertained. I've been told many times that he has a very pleasant temperament.
Is starting to get lighter hair. I would still consider is brown, but it's basically the same color as Richard's now. I'm curious to see if it'll continue to lighten through the summer.
Is getting good about sharing. For example, the Rindlisbachers have a dog named Roxy and he will take food out of his mouth and share it with Roxy. Gross, but sweet.
Will scream at the top of his lungs and then proceed to laugh at himself for minutes at a time lol
I love this sweet, strong, silly little boy so very much.
One day he took a super late nap so I was trying to wake him up by putting him on the ground.
I was unsuccesful.
