We are officially in the double digits over here! There's no going back now, my baby isn't much of a baby anymore. 9 months was totally my jam and I am expecting no less fun for 10 months.
At 10 months Carter...
Waves hi and bye bye both on command and by himself. Our family and people at church always wave back but it always breaks my heart when kids at the park and random people at stores don't see him waving. It's a hard knock life, kid.
Is very good at standing up by himself and can walk alongside you as long as you offer a hand. He actually took 3 steps the day he turned 10 months, and of course I missed it!!! Not because I was at work or gone or anything but because I was making him a bottle! It happened right underneath my nose and I missed it. We tried to reenact it again but he just wasn't feeling it...
Got his third tooth at the top left. It is super crooked right now but everyone has said that they straighten out a bit once more come in.
Says "mama" "dada" "baba" "cat" "duck" and kind of "tractor" ...it sounds more like "dack-dur." Even if he can't say the actual word, he's good at mimicking our tone of voice and our inflections with his babbles which is super cute. He also says "oooh" all the time. Like, no exaggeration...I'd say a good 1/2 hour of his day is probably spent saying "oooh" to things he's interested in. It makes it really fun taking him new places. He also stills blows raspberries like a boss. It's super funny but not exactly ideal during our church meetings haha
Loves all animals. He still loves his bear books but especially lights up when he sees cats, much to his fathers dismay haha.
Is a fabulous eater as was evidenced by his last pediatrician appointment (90th percentile! what what!) Cuties are by far his favorite but he's tried a little bit of everything. I've discovered that I'm a bit of a stickler about the things I let him eat. He eats so healthy and I kind of get after anyone who gives/offers treats. Sorry guys :/
Still nurses about 5 times a day but honestly I think most of that is just for bonding/cuddle time because when I pump at work (8 hours) I will only make enough for one bottle.
That being said, we are up to about roughly 7-8 ounces of formula a day which I'm okay with. It is so convenient to have that option when we are out and about or during car rides. I think we will make it to a year with nursing no problem, but my love for nursing is slowly dwindling because of the combo of his squirminess + teeth.
Has developed a big interest in the washer/dryer
Still loves to watch people dribble basketballs and has done it himself a few times. He tries to do it all the time, I have to get it on video it's the cutest! He also can roll and through smaller balls back and forth with me.
Bathtime is still the favorite. If we leave the bathroom door open he will crawl on in and lean over into the tub with a big smile on his face. Recently he's been trying to drink the bath water by sticking his face in it which is beyond gross so we're doing all we can to discourage that nastiness.
If we ask where the [fan, clock, light, etc] is, he will look at the object.
Was taught how to do "high 5" by Daddy
Is sleeping much better now. He goes to bed around 8pm, still wakes up once a night around 4:00am (which isn't ideal but it's a big improvement from where he used to be so I'm just going to roll with it for awhile) and sleeps until 7am. As far as naps go, he'll go down for a max of 1.5 hours a day. Usually a half hour around 10:30am and an hour around 3ish which basically means that I get nothing done haha. Especially since I work 3 days a week! However, I've quickly learned how to be super productive during that hour stretch!
Is starting to get a bit...violent? Maybe violent isn't an appropriate word...let's call it...excessively playful. If we are sitting on the couch, he will crawl up and bite our toes haha. He has also started to hit. He hits the same way he does "high 5s" so I think we know who to blame for that ;) I know laughing is the worst thing we can possibly do, but sometimes it's so hard! We're working on it.
Has the funniest, most rambunctious personality ever. I laugh so hard all day long.
Here's a plethora of blurry, yet cute iPhone photos (...Rich you know you love that word ;)
Mama needs a DSLR!
I can't believe I'm starting to think about plans for his BIRTHDAY! Ah!
