Before I get started on my usual questions...I need to recap the 20 week ultrasound before I forget! Richard was able to accompany me yet again and it was sooo much fun! The tech asked if we were able to tell last time what the gender was (at 13 weeks) and I said that it looked like a boy, but we will see. Richard always would roll his eyes at me when I said "we'll see" but I got so much grief about finding out so early that I began to doubt my confidence. So when I told Emily (I remember her name! Best tech ever!) it looked like a boy, she said "okay well well let's see" and put the wand on my stomach and BAM! Boy parts. It was literally the first thing that showed up on the screen. She was like, "Yep, definitely a boy" haha. Little dude obviously wanted me to stop thinking he could be a girl.
Anyways, he was much more active this time around. He was also successful in hiding his face throughout the whole scan, which made measurements a little harder for Emily to get but I thoroughly enjoyed it because it made the scan a lot longer. After awhile, he turned around for like 2 minutes and she surprised us with a quick 4D ultrasound.
I love this picture. He looks just like Richard when he sleeps. I have like 30 pictures on my phone of Richard sleeping because I'm creepy like that which I'd love to post to compare, but I know I would be sleeping outside if I did that so I will resist...for now.
At this appointment (I was 19weeks & 4 days) they determined he weighed about 11 ounces. I have no idea how they do that but I'm pretty proud of my little chunk. According to my apps, 11 ounces was like a week heavier than normal, which doesn't sound like anything but it fuels my hope that I will have a rolly-polly of a newborn! :)
I'm not sure if I will have another ultrasound between now and his birth, but if not I think the above photo will hold me over :)
1) Weeks Pregnant/Size of baby? 22 and a half weeks...size of a spaghetti squash! If you saw my picture on Facebook/Instagram...you saw that I was pretty excited about holding that spaghetti squash. The baby should officially be a pound now and about 11 inches long!
2) Symptoms? Mega pregnancy brain. That might also be from the lack of sleep. However, this pregnancy still is super, super easy and symptom free and I am very grateful. I did have to grab a few new bras (thanks Mom!) in an unmentionably large size, but you know...first world problems :)
3) Sleep? No problems at all. One night when Richard was working I made my normal pillow cocoon and I literally didn't move all night. I woke up in the exact same position that I fell asleep in. The blanket didn't even shift, it was pretty magical.
4) Mood? I just got done with another huge assignment at school so that always helps my mood. I only have a 40 page paper (shared with a team-mate), two group projects and a presentation left and then I am done with college...forever!!!
5) Fitness? I miss the gym so much. I only work a half day tomorrow and then I'm off from work for the rest of the week so me and the weights are going to get reacquainted! I'm still not worrying too much because my Dr. says my 7lb weight gain is perfect for my size. I just don't want to get too weak or flabby.
6) Cravings? No cravings, which has been great.
7) Maternity clothes? I actually just bought these two maternity dresses online from Old Navy for 30% off that I'm pretty excited about. I'm thinking the blue one should still work after pregnancy. I needed a dress for my work's client Christmas party and then the striped one was $12 so that was obviously a no-brainer.
.
Besides that, I can still make my normal clothes work. However, I officially can't wear my normal jeans without a rubber band or belly band though.
8) Movement? Yes :) Gosh, I love it. I notice his activity the most at night but that might be because I'm not so distracted by other things. It is still pretty subtle. I mean, there is no denying the feeling anymore but I keep expecting to feel "kicks." These still just feel like heavy flutters. Tonight I'm actually noticing probably the most movement that I ever have so far. I wish Richard wasn't at basketball so he could maybe feel it.
Ohhh!!! That reminds me! Richard was able to feel movement for the first time last week! I don't think it meant as much to him as it did to me but I get teary eyed every time I think about it...
I also talked him into going and test driving strollers today after work. I'm pretty confident in the one that I want now. It was pretty surreal pushing that thing around!
Oh and then we got a rocker for the nursery from Craigslist! However, that's a totally different blog post for a different day.
First, and foremost I am looking forward to being done with school. Then I am excited for our little Thanksgiving and then my work Christmas party (Richard gets to come this year!) and then Christmas and then 2015! The year we will become a family of 3 :) So many blessings, I couldn't even begin to count.
