4 Months

Okay I lied, THIS is my favorite stage so far. I have a feeling that won't be my last time saying that though haha.

At 4 months Mr. Carter...
-GIGGLES NOW. The giggles have basically changed our entire lives. There is nothing more beautiful than the sound of your child laughing, nothing. It still takes a bit of work to get him to laugh but it's totally worth it. Besides the giggles, he continues to squeal, laugh and add little words to his vocabulary. He also still loves to "motorboat" with his mouth which gets his drool EVERYWHERE.

-Weighs 16 pounds 9 ounces (75%) and is 25 inches tall (50%)

-Has developed such a big personality. He is seriously a total crackup.

-Loves to watch us brush our teeth and grab at the toothbrush. He's gotten a lot better about grabbing things like: his play gym toys, his binky in and out of his mouth, rattles, my hair...

-Is a side sleeper. I lay him down on his back each time but he immediately rolls to his side to sleep and will stay that way throughout the night.

-Gives mama anywhere from a 4-6 hour stretch of sleep at night. Definitely not ideal considering I work outside the home. What happened to my baby that slept through the night!?

-Has perfected the puppy dog eyes to get what he wants. Kill me dead.

-Is seriously trying to crawl. He can get his legs bent up underneath himself and propel forward a few inches. His arm strength isn't quite up to par though so I'm sure we'll have a few more months until he starts getting around.

-Loves to stand up. He gets this total look of triumph on his face whenever we have him up. We got him a bumbo and he likes it okay, but he's much rather be standing. He also still loves to kick up a storm. He kicks so hard that I actually have some bruises on my legs from him! Little punk!

-Has mastered rolling over from his tummy to his back and rolled from his back to his tummy for the first time a couple days ago

-Like to flirt with himself in the mirror. Every night before bed I have him tell the baby "night night" and he always gives himself a big ol' grin

-Has seriously been eyeballing our food. I feel terrible eating in front of him because he'll just stare wide-eyed at our spoons lol. The pediatrician wants us to hold off on cereal or baby food for another month or so because there will be less of a chance that he'll develop allergies. Definitely didn't tell her we had already given him a taste of a slurpee ;)

-Has slept in his crib the last two nights! I figured he would either wake up more because it was unfamiliar or wake up less because it was quiet (or because maybe he wouldn't be able to smell me? Can you tell I google too much? lol) but it was probably the least dramatic change ever haha. He woke up at the exact same times as he always does. However, it's been nice not having to tiptoe around our room when we go to bed at night. I also can't wait to get the pack n' play out of our bedroom! Hooray for regained real estate!

-Really has started looking at the pages of books. Previously he would just look at my face as I read to him but now I think he's getting a little more out of it.

-Still loves to hold our hands. Totally calms him down.

We love you little buddy. So happy you are a part of our family.
